Privacy Policy
Paw Deck Australia respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you place an order or contact us, we collect:
- ✓ Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address
- ✓ Your order history and any correspondence with us
- ✓ Technical data such as your IP address, browser type and pages viewed
- ✓ Marketing preferences, if you sign up to hear from us
We never see your card details. Payments are processed directly by our payment provider. Your full card number is not transmitted to us, stored by us, or accessible to us at any point.
Why we collect it
To process and deliver your order, to answer your questions, to handle returns and refunds, to detect and prevent fraud, to meet our legal and tax obligations, and — only if you've opted in — to send you occasional marketing emails.
Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary, and only with:
- ✓ Our e-commerce platform, which hosts this store and processes orders
- ✓ Our payment provider, to take payment and manage refunds
- ✓ Our delivery carriers, who need your name and address to deliver
- ✓ Government or law enforcement, where we're legally required to
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Where it's stored
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
This site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
Marketing emails
We'll only send marketing emails if you've opted in. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Order confirmations, dispatch notices and replies to your enquiries aren't marketing — you'll keep getting those regardless.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for warranty, returns and tax purposes — generally at least seven years, as Australian tax law requires. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, but if a data breach occurs that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, or ask us to delete it where we're not legally required to keep it. Contact us and we'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we'll investigate.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies.
